Hope ya’ll had a great weekend! We did! Let me tell you of the rollicking tale of high wine adventure…
So here’s the plan –
Slay the Phylloxera demon…..
Steal the wine…..
Retire to a life of lushness…..
It’s a tale that sounds easy when put like that. Most unfortunately for warrior-wine mage Jesse J and sneak vinifera thief Ace, however, when the Phylloxera demon they slay turns out to have worshipers in high places, retirement is not an option.
Join us this Friday 04/06/18 from 6-8pm for a taste of the vine. Your palates will be taken on a journey, via boat ride, through the bottle neck of the river wine. $5 per person to attend.
Next week, Friday the 13th, Join us with Jason from Camp Crystal Lake (A new wine region that came back from the dead). No…. waitaminute, I’m just being told that Jason wont be able to make next week and instead it’ll be David from Monsieur Touton that will be hosting the wine tasting.
On to wine…….Just in:
Lopez de Heredia Reserva Vina Tondonia 2005 Rioja, Spain – 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 5% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo.
This is a traditional Rioja at it’s best, from a winery considered to be an institution of wine making for the region, that was founded in 1877.
This is the current release for Vina Tondonia, which will show bright red fruits, high acidity, slightly oxidized style which exhibits notes of vanilla, balsamic notes. Wine should be opened for at least 45 minutes to an hour to get to optimum. This can be enjoyed by itself or better yet with a piece of rasted meat.
This wine was given a 96 points by Decanter.
Casa J price $ 39.97 (Reg. $48.99)
